Tennis star Emma Raducanu will be a Dior ambassador, having signed on with the company just over a month after winning the women's singles title at the 2021 US Open. The news comes shortly after the 18-year-old became the face of Tiffany & Co. in a deal worth an estimated $2.7 million.

Raducanu has had a sudden rise to fame following her strong showing at Wimbledon this past summer.

She then left those in the sport shocked when she won the US Open as a newcomer, beating out 19-year-old Canadian tennis player Leylah Fernandez in the finals. She is the first qualifier to win a Grand Slam title.

Now, the British athlete is taking a bold step into the world of fashion. In her new role, Raducanu will represent Dior Creative Director Maria Grazia Chiuri's womenswear collections. She will also represent the luxury brand's skincare and make-up lines.

The athlete told British Vogue that she was eager to work with the brand and praised the work of Grazia.

“Maria Grazia's work empowers women to feel confident in the iconic Dior cut, which I feel is very unique,” she told British Vogue. “'The sincerity of her approach and the way she turns shows into collective and meaningful events unquestionably influenced me in my choice.'

Last month Raducanu might have been offering a hint at her future role. She appeared at the premiere for the latest James Bond flick No Time To Die wearing a silver sparkling silver asymmetrical Grecian-inspired maxi dress by Dior.

In an interview with British Vogue , Raducanu expressed how meaningful the event was to her: "Being able to wear a dress like that made with all the magic in the Dior ateliers was a totally unique experience," she revealed. "The detailed embroidery was exceptional, and I was so honored to attend my first movie premiere in it."

Neither party has revealed how much Emma will earn for her role as an ambassador for Dior, but other celebrities have signed multi-million-dollar contracts with the brand.

In 2004 Oscar-winner Charlize Theron reportedly signed a decade-long $37 million contract with the brand. And, in 2014 rumors suggested that Dior had offered Jennifer Lawrence up to $20 million for a three-year stint with the fashion house.
