The fortune of British race car driver George Russell has come a long way after he received his $120,000 at a young age of 16. The Formula One Mercedes driver rose to fame after he won the McLaren Autosport BRDC Award in 2014. In one of his interviews, Russell stated that the funds he received that year was used as a necessary fund to keep him on the racing track until Mercedes picked him up for the junior driver program in 2017. He added that without the said prize, he would not be where he is now.
The 2018 FIA Formula 2 Champion for ART just finished his first season as the driver for the Mercedes team but he has a bright future ahead of him with his promising talents. He looks set to collect millions both on and off the track. It was reported that his annual salary is about $5 million, in addition he could also secure about $3 million total of bonus if he wins the championship. Although his bank balance does not compare to that of some of the more seasoned F1 drives like Verstappen, Hamilton, or Leclerc, he certainly come a long as among the youngest drivers on tour and has a potential to narrow down the gap through the years. Since he has been a part of the Mercedes family after joining the junior program in 2017, it will not be surprising to know that he is also driving the German brand’s high-end car off the track. He currently owns a blue Mercedes AMG C63 which costs around $80,000. He loves his ride so much that he is often seen washing the car and stating that he wanted to take care of the things he love.

At the moment, Russell is still living in his lavish flat in London and spent much of his time during the lockdown with his family. He is currently renting out an apartment in the affluent area of London which monthly rent costs around $3,500. He has been renting for quite a while now however this might end soon as he is planning to move to the luxurious city of Monaco once he can.
Had His Eyes On A Monaco Home
The British race car driver is reportedly planning on moving to the tiny city-state of Monaco which is widely known for their luxurious wealth, casinos and alluring events like the Monaco Grand Prix. Although he is still living on a luxurious flat located in London as mentioned above, he is expected to make his move to Monaco in the near future. Monaco is notorious for being expensive but with Russell’s promising start in Formula One, it is not farfetched that he can soon afford to move and settle in the sovereign city-state.

The talent of the 24 year old British race car driver has definitely made him such a hot commodity on the track and his good looks combined with his stunning tall frame does make him the favorite not only of the crowd but also with the designers and brands. Russell has been seen wearing some Tommy Hilfiger jumpers and suits which goes to show his fine tastes in his clothing. He was spotted wearing some $400 Tommy Hilfiger tuxedo in some Autosport event. Needless to say that he does spend some of his money to prettify himself.
Luxurious Timepieces
Not only does Russell know how to choose fine clothing but he accessorizes himself lavishly as well. He has been seen wearing expensive timepieces through the years. Just last year, he was seen wearing a stunning $7,000 watch which an F1-inspired timepiece is made in partnership of Williams Racing and British watchmaker Bremont. Since he has joined the team of Mercedes, he has been seen wearing Swiss brand IWC Schaffhausen and among his expensive timepiece is the IWC Pilot Watch Double Chronograph Top Gun Ceratanium which has an estimated price of $12,600.
Splendid Hobbies Off The Track
Russell’s off the track hobbies is not surprising since it complements his driving profession. Just like other Formula One drivers Norris, Charles Leclerc and Verstappen, Russell also invested some of his money into sim racing. Since April 2020, he has quickly grew his love for the gaming system as grew even more. The set up of Russell includes two wheel bases such as Simucube 2 Ultimate and Fanatec Podium F1DD which is worth $3,000 and $1,800. He also has wheel rims which is around $700 and a Sim-Lab P1-X cockpit set which costs $900. It was estimated that the total costs of his sim racing set up is approximately around $10,000.
A Healthy Hobby To Keep Him Fit
Russell is also seen cycling often with some of his friends. When he is not driving on the track with his four wheel ride, he is cycling with his buddies. Russell stated in one of his interviews that he initially went cycling for fitness and psychological reasons however through time, he began enjoying the activity. He has been spotted cycling with a black Specialized Venge Pro which costs around $8,000. He also owns a limited edition F1-inspired bike that comes with a limited edition Pirelli tyres and handmade saddle which costs around $7,000.
Expensive Vacations With His Girlfriend
Russell has been spotted taking the time of his life with his girlfriend in two. Just this February, he was seen with his girlfriend in Saint Barts who he has been reportedly dating since the early 2020. The couple has been seen having some lovey dovey time in the sea and even kissing on the beach. They were also seen enjoying some quality time in Greece with Russell’s teammate Nicholas Latifi with his partner in tow as well.
