A Real-Life Palace

Serving as Zamunda's Palace, this very real property is every bit as jaw-dropping as it appears to be in the film. As it turns out, Rick Ross lives in the lap of luxury, in a home so large that it's easy to get lost in. Variety reported on the struggles that the producers were having, stating that they found it frustrating and difficult to find "a house that had the scale of the possibilities for a very lavish palace.” To have found that level of opulence and magnificence in Rick Ross' home speaks volumes as to how incredible his lifestyle is.

There are an abundance of features to this home that are unlike anything else that could be imagined. For starters, the backdrop of this true palace happens to sit on 45,000 square feet, and 253 acres of land, on the outskirts of Atlanta, Georgia. There are a whopping 109 rooms in this mansion, which was once owned by boxing legend Evander Holyfield.

The residence boasts a 135 seat movie theatre that has a sound system unlike any other, and of course, there is a private, custom designed, top-of-the line recording studio in which Rick Ross works to create music. Among the other over-the-top details found in this mansion are a massive bowling alley, and bedrooms with their own huge ensuites. There are a total of 21 bathrooms in this space. To sweeten the deal even more, Rick Ross purchased an adjacent 87 acres of land next door to this mansion, which include two homes that he spent a fortune renovating to perfection.

Rick Ross lives with an abundance of space in this not-so-humble abode. There are a total of 12 bedrooms and the dining room can actually accommodate 100 guests for a comfortably spaced seated-dinner.

Movie Secrets, Spilled

While it's true that this incredible rap legend truly lives a lifestyle of extreme luxury and excellence, there are a few movie secrets that fans can be let in on, pertaining to this astoundingly designed property.  The massive estate is every bit as spectacular as the movie suggests, but the exterior doesn't look like the palace that is shown in the film.

Maxim reveals that; some interior details were added digitally post-production" and the entire exterior imaging was reproduced.

There were 5 focal points within this enormous home, which were primarily used for filming, and the front foyer was one of them. The enormous double-winding staircase is as-seen in the natural state of the home, and required no reproduction of any kind. Producers have raved about the 18 foot ceilings and giant windows featured in each of the living spaces, allowing in natural light and creating the perfect backdrop.

Fans of the movie can relish in knowing that the bedroom featured in the Zamunda was actually Ross's very own bedroom. It's hard to imagine Arsenio Hall and Eddie Murphy trapesing through Rick Ross's home during filming, but that was truly the surreal process that took place.

Gold Leafing And Decorative Elements

The set decorator  of this movie is Douglas A. Mowat, and with the input of his professional, creative flair, Rick Ross' mansion was transformed into a Hollywood palace. Perhaps among the most elaborate and intricate aspects implemented for this movie, was the amount of gold leafing used. Gold accents were the basis of the transformation of this home from mansion to palace. There were gold embellishments and fine crafted gold leafing that were added throughout the space, to accent what fans will be shocked to learn was already there - gold ceiling trim. That's correct, Rick Ross lives in a home with gold trim on his ceilings, making this the perfect spot for all things-royal.

Variety reports that there was so much gold added to the existing gold details found within this estate that they "bought out the country’s supply for at least two months."
